September 14, 2008 Council

After a few bad pulls and a 2% enrage wipe, we finally downed the last road block to Illidan
Awesome progression everyone. Kael, 5/5 Hyjal and 8/9 BT in just over 4 months of 3 3 hour raids a week is something to really be proud of. Expect Illidan down soon!

September 4, 2008 Mother Shahraz

After spending 100K gold worth of mats on shiny purples that are only good for 1 boss, with malfunctioning boss mods, on our 3rd ever attempt, we 1 shotted Mother Shahraz.
Great week so far, with 9 1 shots (damn you bloodboil!), our first 2 guild run ZA bears and a new boss kill with 1 raid night left to go!

August 17, 2008 RoS

No healing! Kick rotation! Don't pull agro!
Woot 6/9, 3 to go!

August 10, 2008 Bloodboil

A few weeks of farming Archimonde and we finally got him down fast enough to get back to BT with enough time to try out Bloodboil. Our 5th try on him, down he went. After the long excrutiating pain of Archimonde, Bloodboil was a little anti climatic. Then again, I dont think we could have taken another 4 week learning curve
After that was over we had an hour left for Reliquary of Souls and got to P2 30%. Expect another kill or maybe 2 shortly,

July 24, 2008 Archimonde

After more tries than we care to count, multiple emo rants in vent or raid chat (seriously stfu everyone), discouraging 13% wipes, massive karma inflation and 1 final inspirational dont fucking die speech from yours truly, we finally killed him
Thats right, we have officially cleared Hyjal! Expect more kills shortly! Thank you everyone for sticking through all the misclicked tears, doomfire looping into melee and that god damned stump.

PS. Thank god for guild repairs

July 3, 2008 Gorefiend

Proving that my concerns that we would even have enough people to raid were unfounded, we managed to have exactly 25 people on for the raid. After a very close vote between killing Sunwell trash and trying out Gorefiend. Most of us had done the simulator but the real thing was a bit different of course. On our 7th try, we finally got him. It was a fun fight, quite different than others we had done before. Great job all and happy 4th of July!

June 22, 2008 Azgalor and Akama

Sunday we had a great night in Hyjal, one shotting the first 4 bosses and getting some pathetic tries on Archimonde. Wait lets back up a sec.. thats right we one shotted Azgalor! The fight went great until the very end when our druid MT died. We powered through the last couple percent and 3 tanks got tanking gloves! We then spent a fun night on Tuesday killing Kael for the 3rd time and headed to Black Temple. 5 healers plus an alt healer was enough to down Najentus and Supremus, leaving us an hour for Akama. Multiple wipes on trash left us with barely 20 minutes for some Akama tries. In a rush our fearless leader said ok lets do it and talked to akama with no ready check or anything. This lead to a very quick wipe of course. After yelling at myself, we buffed and tried again. It was quite sloppy with things running all over and noone quite knowing what to do and then someone called out 'dps Akama'. So we did and Akama died. Debates rage on as to which is the easier fight.. Solarian, Akama or Chess Event. Ok obviously chess is the easiest, youd have to be a total retard to wipe on it, but Im sticking with Akama as #2 easiest!

June 10, 2008 T5 clear

After weeks of tries, and multiple sub 60% wipes, we finally pulled it together. Second try of the night and down he went with only 4 people dead at the end. Awesome work by everyone involved. Of course /rand strikes again and 3 warrior/priest/druid chests drop (grats Tape, Rannex, Triman), mace (offspec Dorean), mail heal legs (Tajyuu), quest neck (Celandro)

Then we finished up by clearing TK so we could officially say we have cleared all T5 content. Back to Adal we went for the obligatory screenshot

3 new bosses in 1 week if you consider Supremus died at 11:30 and Kael died at 9:30 :)

June 5, 2008 Supremus and Kaz'Rogal

We decided to take a week off from that random annoying fight known as Vashj and to try out hand on some new bosses before our kael night (68% so far!)raid. First on Tuesday, we went to BT to try out Supremus. We were riding high after our first sub 4 minute Najentus kill, staying our of melee range and avoiding fires should be easy right? Second attempt we wipe at 1%. Fifth we wipe at 3%. Its getting really late and we call out for our last attempt.. and we wipe fast and hard. So we call out for our last attempt for realz, no take backs, pinkie swear! Boom down he goes! GG shaman dps shield with extra +heals and a slow 1h shaman mace.

Then tonight we went to Hyjal. Nothing like the exciting mechanic of ice bolt would do for us. One shoted Winterchill of course. Then we did a quick 3minute 5s Anetheron death. Riding high we would certainly 1 shot the next boss known as hyjal trash wave #24. But sadly that was not to be. How many ways can 2 banshees, 2 necros and 4 abominations one shot tanks? Turns out to be more than 1! Finally we got to Kaz'Rogal with 24 alive and 1 shotted him. He dropped a void crystal plate belt and an offspec lolcohspam belt.

2 bosses in 1 week and theres a good chance of a 3rd on Sunday! Way to go everyone!

May 8, 2008 Najentus

Poseidon is moving along very quickly these days. our latest conquest, the first boss in Black Temple, Najentus. All our work paid off and we got him to 1% on our dry run followed by a kill on our second try of the night. We finished up the night by one shotting Winterchill, Anetheron and Alar. Yes I know doing 3 different zones in 1 night is a bit silly. So be it!

Great job all!

Celandro
May 4, 2008 Alar and Solarian

After months of basically ignoring Tempest Keep, we decided to go back in there to see what it was about. Utilizing the elite 'dont stand in fire strat', we managed to 3 shot Alar. We then went to Solarian and tried him and 40% first try ever. We agreed to not suck and move if we got a skull on our head and got a kill on our 2nd ever try. We still had time so we went to VR and 1 shotted him too. I wont give away our super secret strat but it involves abusing the hell out of circle of healing.

Great job all!

May 3, 2008 Vashj story

So I thought I'd write a bit about our Vashj attempts. We had a few nights of wiping and then on Sunday we finally got to 3.9 cores. What is 3.9 cores you might ask? Well this screenshot should explain it After this we got to 3.9 again on what was planned to be our last run for the night, but this time we had everyone up and all the striders dead. A new strider spawns and Elo, our kiter gets thrown the 4th core and down goes the raid. Refusing to end the night on that sour note, we put in one more try, and down went Vashj!

Celandro
April 27, 2008 Vashj down

After weeks of trying, we finally killed Vashj! This fight is a huge accomplishment for the guild and everyone should be very proud. In honor of this special event, an artistic representation of the kill was created. Enjoy! Thanks Amorain for the extremely accurate representation!

Celandro
April 8, 2008 Anetheron down

I know this update is really b being done on April 18th but lets pretend I put it up a couple weeks ago when we beat Anetheron! Great job all except for that slacker Celandro who didn't update the website.

Celandro
March 27, 2008 Magtheridon and Rage Winterchill down!

First things first:

A couple weeks of clearing 5/6 ssc and 1/4 tk and quite a few wipes on Alar and Vashj, Blizzard drops us a little gift of a patch. Hey, lets buff the hell out of spirit and let anyone who wants in to Hyjal and Black Temple. Oh and while we are at it, lets nerf Magtheridon. So we start off on Magtheridon, and after 1 unfortunate misclick, we get a real try and kill him first try. Maybe we shouldn't have skipped him to focus on SSC, we did get him below 30% before we gave up on him.

After Mag was dead, we thought about hitting Leo or Void Reaver but our warlock wasn't on and we figured what the heck, lets see how hard Mount Hyjal is. We wiped a few times on the first pulls learning valuable lessons like:
  1. Corpses explode and disappear with epics on them if they arent looted before a wipe
  2. The npcs are there for a reason, they do good dps you fools.
  3. A priest getting disconnected right before Winterchill spawns will never get back in the fight
  4. Winterchill is totally doable with 0 holy priests and only 6 healers!
Thats right, our only holy priest was 1 shotted while offline and with 0 insta cast heals and only shadow priest for PW:S, we still got Winterchill down the first time he spawned! Heck, he didnt even manage to kill as many people as Leo, we still had 13 up plus the npcs :)! A huge congrats to all who came. Great job!

Celandro
March 16, 2008 Leo down!

It was a bit sloppy near the end, but Leo died and gave us 2 warrior/priest/druid gloves woo Ok.. it was a lot sloppy. 6 people alive out of 25 is not exactly your goal when killing a boss :). After Leo died, we worked on Vashj and got 2.5 cores (aka 3 cores but someone with a core died). We just need to handle the Striders and Vashj will die too! A big congratulations is deserved for all who came

Celandro
February 23, 2008 Karathress down!

Just a few weeks after Tidewalker, and a couple very expensive nights repairing, karathress died! And only 2 deaths! Leo is next! Thanks all who came

Celandro
January 30, 2008 Tidewalker

After some holiday slowness, we are back and kicking some ass. Sunday we got our first kill of tidewalker: and then Tuesday we got him again! I fully expect another news post shortly with news of the death of Karathress followed shortly by Leo! Great job to everyone who showed up.

November 28, 2007 Hydross Down

Yes, we are still alive and kicking. Noteable achievements are the first 2 bosses in ZA down. No screenshots of those of course. Most importantly though, we used that new fangled guild bank feature, put together a frost set for Insidias and killed Hydross on our 4th and last try of the night.

Note above that we decided to just try and burn him down the last 2% instead of doing a transition. Shield wall had already been used earlier but had last stand so it didnt seem too risky. Little did we know I would get 2 back to back hits in a row for over 10k. What are the odds of 2 near full damage hits nuking you down just before the boss dies? I think it was a conspiracy to up my repair bill! Anyhow, enough about me. Here's a shot of all the folks that made it happen. No nameplates of course cuz of the new Blizzard bug

Celandro
October 22, 2007 Void Reaver and Lurker down

So we went back to Void Reaver a couple times, and everything finally clicked. 2nd try of the night on Sunday and down he went! He was a big accomplishment.

Then tonight we tried SSC for the first time ever. Turns out that 1) SSC trash is easier than TK trash and 2) Lurker is a horribly boring fight once you know whats going on.

Great job everyone. And finally some group pics

Celandro
September 23, 2007 Gruul shatters into pieces and Kara officially complete

After a 39% try on Void Reaver last week, we decided to not skip bosses and went back to Gruul and got him on our 3rd try

We then went back to Kara and took out Netherspite out on our second try, just to say we did it.

Great job everyone.

September 1, 2007 Server lost our update and oh yes, we killed Maulgar and Illhoof

First a word from our sponsers:

Poseidon is now accepting applications from highly skilled lvl 70 players. All races and classes are open atm. Our current goal is to run 2 Prince clearing Karazhans and progress in 25 mans.

Poseidon was formed to be a place for highly skilled, restricted play time players. People who have been or want to be in all the zones and raids available in World of Warcraft, but are on a tight schedule. Raids are currently set for Tuesday and Sunday 8pm to 11:15pm sharp. We know that our members have real life constraints. Thats why our raids start on time, zone ins and buffs are done in the first 15 minutes, and we raid for 3 hours. Everyone's full attention and cooperation is expected. No drama whatsoever will be allowed. If this sounds like the type of guild you are interested in,

Send your name, class, level, spec, why wou want to join and everything else you think I want to know to: . Yes, your application will be graded on spelling, grammer, humor and content .

So yea, we're still alive and kickin ~ and Illhoof on the other hand can't say the same...

We've also decided to get our feet wet in the 25man instances, and on our first night in we managed to clear High King Mulgar and get Gruul down to 45%!

Well done all.

July 29, 2007 Nightbane dies

After 14 minutes of fishing in the charred earth patches, Nightbane, the skeleton dragon, finally got bored and /afked. He was kind enough to drop loot too! Congratulations to those who fought their way through the overly lengthy fight. Only Illhoof and Netherspite remain.

Celandro
July 22, 2007 Prince down

After blazing through the first 6 bosses in 3 hours, we had plenty of time to work on our nemesis, the prince. With a lot of dps, some excellent healing, a few great inferno warnings and a bit of luck, we smashed the Prince's head through the wall!

Now that the prince was down, it was off to Nightbane. We learned quite a bit. He doesn't seem too hard, so I expect him to go down shortly. Congratulations to all.

July 1, 2007 Aran bites the dust

It was a long time coming, but the Shade of Aran has finally bitten the dust. With your fearless leader recklessly abandoning the original plan of waiting for the polymorph in favor of WTF JUST KILL HIS ASS, and with our savior Googlie Eyes to help control adds, polymorph hit about 2 seconds after the adds despawned! Some health stones and heal pots later and some breathless 'just keep it up guys' talk on vent followed with this:

Yes, Aran was slain with red and black dps graphs and excessive charts! Go go addon obsession! Seriously though, a great job was done by all, and I think everyone will agree with me that Aran will go down far easier next time.

Celandro
June 29, 2007 Onwards

Sunday's raid had group A doing quite well, clearing Curator and Chess event, as well as getting Aran to 7% our best ever! Also notice your fearless leader's every more complicated UI. Yes that's right, soon I will be unable to see anything on my screen but a very small space. Just wait for next weeks screenshots Tuesay Group A got through Romeo and Juliet, without your fearless leader who was busy trying to out drink his boss. I had to let him win to ensure a promotion though, don't let him know!

Sunday, group Alpha struggled with a late start and Vent server capacity issues, but did down Romeo and Juliet. They came back strong with our first ever Wizard of Oz event, downing a new boss with just 2 tries. Well done! Do take note of the much less cluttered healer UI shown in this picture ;).

June 19, 2007 First Dual raids

Big congrats to all that participated in our first dual raid last night. Things went very well, especially considering the delay in the start time and the different strategies required with a druid offtank.

Group A completed Huntsman, Moroes, Maiden and Big Bad Wolf with only 1 wipe on Maiden
Group Alpha started off even better, completing Huntsman, Moroes, Maiden before struggling on Romeo and Juliet. We have discussed the strategy and Group Alpha should complete Romeo and Juliet on Sunday.

Special thanks go out to Drea and Nalain for leading team Alpha.

May 29, 2007 Curator and Chess Event Down!
With the power of a new UI including a threat meter that noone else could seem to get working right, we killed Curator on our 3rd attempt for the first time on the first night of trying! We are really progressing along quickly and picking up on these new fights very quickly. Your amazing screenshot taker was on the ball again, giving us this amazing screenshot
As you can see, we got some loot, grats! We then moved on to the chess event. By move on I mean yell at my wife for not shackling her mob only to find out it went invis and cleared her /focus. Oops! My bad. Anyhow, we got to chess event and all clicked pieces and did stuff although I'm not sure entirely what I was doing. I killed some pawn with a pawn and killed something else with a horse and then tried to kill something else and it was over. Thanks whoever knew what they were doing cuz it sure wasnt me! This lead to another fine screenshot, sure to knock the pants off ya
Great job everyone, I expect more progress next week!
Celandro
May 29, 2007 Midnight, Moroes, Maiden and Big Bad Wolf Down!
4 one shots in a row (excepting the wierd wipe on Midnight due to back spawns) in only our 3rd week in Kara! Great job by everyone! Curator is on deck, bring your flasks.
Celandro
May 27, 2007 Moroes, Maiden and Big Bad Wolf Down!
That's right, 3 first kills in one night. Excellent job everyone, especially for not yelling at me too much for wiping us :). First up was Moroes. He has given us problems for the last 3 nights we had tried him with wipes under 10% a couple times and a server crash screwing us last Sunday but we finally got him on our 3rd try tonight. Grats KegoBear on his new dagger and Aprunhi on the girdle.
Next up was Maiden. She's one big ugly lady that looks surprisingly similar hrmmm... You will have to pick which of the screenshots is from tonight. We got her to 6% on the 1st pull, 10% on the 2nd 'accidental' pull (thx gnomes) and killed him on the 3rd try! Grats Lightknight on the bracers and Enyo on the shard (stupid shamans).
We had 30 minutes left so headed off to see the play. Who is this little old lady and what sharp teeth she has and what phat loot we got! 2nd try and we blew the little pigs house down. Grats Demarra on the red cloak and Gill on the healing whatever. See I was so excited I forgot to take a screenshot or write anything down so you will have to screw off if you don't like it. PS. My wife says I'm mean cuz I said not to make yourself look like a retard. I hearby appologize to retarded people as it would be an insult to be compared to some of the players on our server.

Our first raid in Karazhan went fairly well. 1 boss down and Moroes to 40% with a bad group composition. I expect more bosses to die shortly. In other news, I've been working on getting the website up and running, hope you all like it.
