Dorian's Lego Computers

October 12, 2006 Update
It's been a long time since I updated and thought now was a good time. I just switched hosts and everything should be working properly. Please email me if you find anything wrong.

The builder has just moved to Georgia and is busy buying a home there, but he does have some plans for a new case in the future. We will have to wait and see what he comes up with.

Project Onyx worked well until about a month ago when the motherboard started giving out. The motherboard is an unsupported piece of junk and now only works with a seperate network card and a seperate sound card. If you examine the case, there is no good way to stabilize 3 seperate addon cards (its hard enough just stabilizing the video card). So Project Onyx has been decommissioned. Perhaps it will be reborn soon, you will have to wait and see.

April 10, 2005 Project Onyx Auction canceled
I just couldn't bear the thought of selling it for a loss. If you are interested in buying a custom order case, please email:
April 6, 2005 Project Onyx Relisted
Project Onyx has been relisted on ebay for starting bid of only $600. This is less than half of the cost to build it.

I've given up on making any money off it, please just take it off my hands so my wife wont give me dirty looks anymore. I beg of you.

March 7, 2005 Project Onyx Continues
Went to friends house this weekend and got the parts. We found out that we are missing the Motherboard and the DVD player for the new system. I guessed at the placement for the MB, and started assembling Sunday after another emergency trip to LegoLand for special parts. (Thank God for the shopper's pass) Case is about 30% finished, still need to pick up some decent looking fan grills, settle on a power switch, decide if going to use led for hd access, etc.

Hopefully, I can get some pictures up soon of it in progress, stay tuned!!!

Some friends are starting up a Vanguard fan site at Drop by and check it out, this is about the game being put out by Sigil Games Online, Brad McQuaid's company. ( )

(PS, I played Dorian in Triton on Povar in Everquest ). You can find me now on WoW in Poseidon

January 8, 2005 Media Coverage

Since putting up the last case, I have been linked on several sites,, that I know of.

Not sure if cox will shut me down at the end of the month or not, my bandwidth used this month is a wee tad high. 40gb in 12 days might make them think I am running some sort of business or something.

Thanks to everyone for all your kind words!!! Feel free to email me with any questions or comments at

I would like to thank Stephen Blythe for donating some bandwidth to me to allow this site to stay running. If you need any Accounting software help or products check him out at Blytheco
