Burning Crusade Finished |
On our 8th try of our last raid week of the expansion, we completed the expansion. With only 8 people alive, and 4 dying shortly after the kill, we burned through the end of phase five the second time we got to it. Meteors falling everywhere, fire blooms, mage dragons running around blinking and shielding us all... The fight was easily the most complex and most fun fight in the expansion. The cheers in vent, congrats from others in general chat and random tells from other players in other guilds when we finally downed him were just awesome.

Kil'Jaeden movie
These last 5 weeks we have progressed very quickly through what is still very difficult content. You should all be very proud of yourselves as we have done what very few people have done in this game. We have one more raid night before the expansion and then a new journey begins.
I'd like to thank all of the people who have been there over this last year since we started doing 25 mans, and even more so those who were with us back when we were struggling running 2 Kara groups. Thanks to those who stayed with us through the recruitment phase and all those times not so long ago when we had to pug to fill up those early 25 man raids. Thanks to those who switched servers to play with us. Thanks to those who answered our recruiting posts. Thanks to those who sat out fights, switched specs and made the team decisions that got us to this point. Lastly, a special thanks to my wife and family for putting up with this silly game :)
See you all in Naxx!

Patch, Kalecgos, Brutallus and Warglaives |
Quick update for those keeping track. Patch day came and after we rolled through BT in 2.5 hours on Thursday and got Neph an OH warlgaive. We sat around for 45 minutes trying to zone into Sunwell on Sunday, then got some serious attempts in on Kalecgos and killed him in under an hour from zone in. Brutallus took even less tries including the 23 man kill ;). Felmyst down to 57%, should go down soon too. The patch has definitely made things easier but its nice to be able to see the bosses we wouldnt have been able to without the nerfs. This week, We failed at the 15 minute RoS race to kill before the server shut down but still managed to clear BT without me having to tank! Best of all, Neph got his MH and we now have a set of warglaives!

T6 official cleared |
The moment we have all been waiting for finally arrived. After months of blood sweat and tears we finally got to the last boss in Black Temple. It reminded me a bit of the Kael fight we beat just under 4 months ago with 4 different tanks and tons of different abilities to deal with. We knew on Thursday that Illidan would be going down after a disheartening 18% wipe, and on our 3rd attempt of the night, down he went. We spent the rest of the night fighting our way to Kalecgos only to have half the raid locked out of the fight (but we can still heal!) Congratulations Clyne on your mace, Palenn on your loleather helm and grats on the chest Yeme, Arlecchino and Bearamut.
The next 5 weeks is going to be very busy with the patch coming out, the nerfing of all the zones, Blizzcon and the expansion. More updates coming soon!

After a few bad pulls and a 2% enrage wipe, we finally downed the last road block to Illidan
Awesome progression everyone. Kael, 5/5 Hyjal and 8/9 BT in just over 4 months of 3 3 hour raids a week is something to really be proud of. Expect Illidan down soon!

Mother Shahraz |
|
After spending 100K gold worth of mats on shiny purples that are only good for 1 boss, with malfunctioning boss mods, on our 3rd ever attempt, we 1 shotted Mother Shahraz.
Great week so far, with 9 1 shots (damn you bloodboil!), our first 2 guild run ZA bears and a new boss kill with 1 raid night left to go!

Bloodboil |
|
A few weeks of farming Archimonde and we finally got him down fast enough to get back to BT with enough time to try out Bloodboil. Our 5th try on him, down he went. After the long excrutiating pain of Archimonde, Bloodboil was a little anti climatic. Then again, I dont think we could have taken another 4 week learning curve
After that was over we had an hour left for Reliquary of Souls and got to P2 30%. Expect another kill or maybe 2 shortly,

Archimonde |

After more tries than we care to count, multiple emo rants in vent or raid chat (seriously stfu everyone), discouraging 13% wipes, massive karma inflation and 1 final inspirational dont fucking die speech from yours truly, we finally killed him

Thats right, we have officially cleared Hyjal! Expect more kills shortly! Thank you everyone for sticking through all the misclicked tears, doomfire looping into melee and that god damned stump.
PS. Thank god for guild repairs

Gorefiend |
|
Proving that my concerns that we would even have enough people to raid were unfounded, we managed to have exactly 25 people on for the raid. After a very close vote between killing Sunwell trash and trying out Gorefiend. Most of us had done the simulator but the real thing was a bit different of course. On our 7th try, we finally got him. It was a fun fight, quite different than others we had done before.
Great job all and happy 4th of July!

Azgalor and Akama |
|
Sunday we had a great night in Hyjal, one shotting the first 4 bosses and getting some pathetic tries on Archimonde. Wait lets back up a sec.. thats right we one shotted Azgalor! The fight went great until the very end when our druid MT died. We powered through the last couple percent and 3 tanks got tanking gloves!
We then spent a fun night on Tuesday killing Kael for the 3rd time and headed to Black Temple. 5 healers plus an alt healer was enough to down Najentus and Supremus, leaving us an hour for Akama. Multiple wipes on trash left us with barely 20 minutes for some Akama tries. In a rush our fearless leader said ok lets do it and talked to akama with no ready check or anything. This lead to a very quick wipe of course. After yelling at myself, we buffed and tried again. It was quite sloppy with things running all over and noone quite knowing what to do and then someone called out 'dps Akama'. So we did and Akama died. Debates rage on as to which is the easier fight.. Solarian, Akama or Chess Event.
Ok obviously chess is the easiest, youd have to be a total retard to wipe on it, but Im sticking with Akama as #2 easiest!

T5 clear |
|
After weeks of tries, and multiple sub 60% wipes, we finally pulled it together. Second try of the night and down he went with only 4 people dead at the end. Awesome work by everyone involved. Of course /rand strikes again and 3 warrior/priest/druid chests drop (grats Tape, Rannex, Triman), mace (offspec Dorean), mail heal legs (Tajyuu), quest neck (Celandro)
Then we finished up by clearing TK so we could officially say we have cleared all T5 content. Back to Adal we went for the obligatory screenshot
3 new bosses in 1 week if you consider Supremus died at 11:30 and Kael died at 9:30 :)

Supremus and Kaz'Rogal |
|
We decided to take a week off from that random annoying fight known as Vashj and to try out hand on some new bosses before our kael night (68% so far!)raid. First on Tuesday, we went to BT to try out Supremus. We were riding high after our first sub 4 minute Najentus kill, staying our of melee range and avoiding fires should be easy right? Second attempt we wipe at 1%. Fifth we wipe at 3%. Its getting really late and we call out for our last attempt.. and we wipe fast and hard. So we call out for our last attempt for realz, no take backs, pinkie swear! Boom down he goes! GG shaman dps shield with extra +heals and a slow 1h shaman mace.
Then tonight we went to Hyjal. Nothing like the exciting mechanic of ice bolt would do for us. One shoted Winterchill of course. Then we did a quick 3minute 5s Anetheron death. Riding high we would certainly 1 shot the next boss known as hyjal trash wave #24. But sadly that was not to be. How many ways can 2 banshees, 2 necros and 4 abominations one shot tanks? Turns out to be more than 1! Finally we got to Kaz'Rogal with 24 alive and 1 shotted him. He dropped a void crystal plate belt and an offspec lolcohspam belt.
2 bosses in 1 week and theres a good chance of a 3rd on Sunday! Way to go everyone!

Najentus |
|
Poseidon is moving along very quickly these days. our latest conquest, the first boss in Black Temple, Najentus. All our work paid off and we got him to 1% on our dry run followed by a kill on our second try of the night. We finished up the night by one shotting Winterchill, Anetheron and Alar. Yes I know doing 3 different zones in 1 night is a bit silly. So be it!
Great job all!

Alar and Solarian |
|
After months of basically ignoring Tempest Keep, we decided to go back in there to see what it was about. Utilizing the elite 'dont stand in fire strat', we managed to 3 shot Alar.
We then went to Solarian and tried him and 40% first try ever. We agreed to not suck and move if we got a skull on our head and got a kill on our 2nd ever try.
We still had time so we went to VR and 1 shotted him too. I wont give away our super secret strat but it involves abusing the hell out of circle of healing.
Great job all!

After weeks of trying, we finally killed Vashj! This fight is a huge accomplishment for the guild and everyone should be very proud. In honor of this special event, an artistic representation of the kill was created. Enjoy!

Magtheridon and Rage Winterchill down! |
|
First things first:
A couple weeks of clearing 5/6 ssc and 1/4 tk and quite a few wipes on Alar and Vashj, Blizzard drops us a little gift of a patch. Hey, lets buff the hell out of spirit and let anyone who wants in to Hyjal and Black Temple. Oh and while we are at it, lets nerf Magtheridon. So we start off on Magtheridon, and after 1 unfortunate misclick, we get a real try and kill him first try. Maybe we shouldn't have skipped him to focus on SSC, we did get him below 30% before we gave up on him.
After Mag was dead, we thought about hitting Leo or Void Reaver but our warlock wasn't on and we figured what the heck, lets see how hard Mount Hyjal is. We wiped a few times on the first pulls learning valuable lessons like:
- Corpses explode and disappear with epics on them if they arent looted before a wipe
- The npcs are there for a reason, they do good dps you fools.
- A priest getting disconnected right before Winterchill spawns will never get back in the fight
- Winterchill is totally doable with 0 holy priests and only 6 healers!
Thats right, our only holy priest was 1 shotted while offline and with 0 insta cast heals and only shadow priest for PW:S, we still got Winterchill down the first time he spawned! Heck, he didnt even manage to kill as many people as Leo, we still had 13 up plus the npcs :)! A huge congrats to all who came. Great job!

Leo down! |
|
It was a bit sloppy near the end, but Leo died and gave us 2 warrior/priest/druid gloves woo
Ok.. it was a lot sloppy. 6 people alive out of 25 is not exactly your goal when killing a boss :). After Leo died, we worked on Vashj and got 2.5 cores (aka 3 cores but someone with a core died). We just need to handle the Striders and Vashj will die too! A big congratulations is deserved for all who came
